More than any other holiday known to humankind, Valentines Day presents a dilemma for me. My wife Lindsey enjoys a romantic day/night like any woman, but it’s tricky because her birthday is February 11, which was just three days ago. Being that we’re on the Dave Ramsey plan and trying to get out of debt, it is difficult to spend the benjamins like we got ’em. Speaking of benjamins, our own little Benjamin will be here in 9 short weeks, and last I heard, babies cost money.
All that being said, tonight is our first birthing class at the hospital, so there’s not a lot of pressure to plan the perfect night–which is much like finding a leprechaun riding a unicorn on a double rainbow. That doesn’t mean, however, that I don’t want to be sweet. At the risk of Lindsey falling deeper in love with the underage swoopy-haired savant, I got her a Justin Bieber Valentine. She’s already admitted an illegal and immoral crush on the youngster, but I’m not worried because Bieber’s a believer and wouldn’t dare steal my pregnant wife away from me. I don’t think his mom would let him anyways.
So on this special day, what are some low cost sweet things you’ve done, would do, or would like to be done for you?
