Some of you may be wondering what’s been happening since the move back to Savannah. So for all you kind folk who have wondered-and the unfortunate few who happened upon this post-let me tell you.
I knew moving to Savannah would bring about a time of reflection and discernment, namely in regards to vocation. Am I going to continue on in ministry as a vocation, or will I hold off joining a church staff indefinitely? That’s still in the air. Will I pursue teaching, whether on the secondary level or in higher education? Still in the air, though I plan to move towards either, or both, of these possibilities in the near future.
On the unemployment side of things, I cannot say that I am officially unemployed because of the work provided by my gracious father-in-law, Paul of Paul Kennedy Catering. I’ve doing my share of setting up events and keeping an eye on buffet lines. But looking long term, I am seeking a job that supports the family and offers a sense of self-fulfillment. So right now I have my sights set on an admissions counselor position at Savannah College of Art and Design. I’ll let you know how it goes. Currently I am waiting to set up an initial phone interview–that is how they sniff out the crazies I suppose.
If you’re the praying kind, please pray for the interview process at SCAD. This job would allow me to do some more schooling at night in order to get a teacher licensure for secondary ed (history). Thanks for you caring and praying.
Grace to you
